A New Dawn leads to Dusk...
Prestige Wrestling RP 004

Lets get it straight, shall we?
Disorder last week has proven to be a big leap of events since debuting just over a month ago, we seen many new comers take the stage and state their cases but none as effective as Daniel Ballentine who rocked Prestige by challenging Corey Benjamin to a non-title match which Prestige owner, Isreal Reed granted. Then later that night attacking both The Enforcer and Santa Claus sending a clear message that Corey may have a tougher challenge in front of him than he may have been expecting.
Since the match has been set, Daniel has already stated his opinion on the record in the form of a promo in which he tried to cut Corey down as a coward and labeling him the "goldenboy" of Prestige. In Corey's eyes this was nothing more than worthless words as he didn't seem himself in the same light. Maybe Daniel has a distorted view of things but last Corey checked he went against every possible grain to get to the position he is in now and even to the dislike of Prestige Management.
As the events of last week start to fade behind us, we look towards next week and the match-up between these two. It seems as if Daniel is ready, but how about Corey?
We find the hard livin' hard hittin' superstar himself infront of a pool at a Holiday Inn. The sun is high in the sky and is giving way to a rather nice day. The weather is comfortable enough to swim, but Corey just lounges in a chair with a large patio umbrella overtop of him. He has a fruity looking beverage in front of him with a crazy straw that bends in all kinds of direction. He takes a drink of his rum infused concoction as he begins to speak.
"What a nice day, wouldn't you agree. Typically I wouldn't be taking the little free time I get in my life to address such ridiculousness, but it appears as if Daniel Ballentine once again has decided it upon himself to open his trap and talk down to me as if I was a lesser man than he is. So instead of relaxing by the pool taking in the warm weather, I have to sit here an contemplate the choice of words to counter what he had to say. That's how this works right Danny boy? You talk trash, I respond with equal amount of garbage and we continue to banter back and fourth until Disorder where everything we spew won't matter? It's alright I can play that game, and play it rather well if I do say myself. You see, I am not entirely new to this industry as you may or may not be aware. And I have had my fair share of what you would call promos. I find them pointless but I will cater to your need to useless speeches. You see Daniel, I am a man of action not much to want to sit around and run my mouth, but you had to come out and say crap about me that to many people warranted a response, so you get what you want yet again. Much like a spoiled little child. The difference is your getting what you want, ends at Disorder when I beat you in the ring."
He reaches forward to his icy blue hued drink and takes a drink from the over exaggerated straw. He grabs his head as if he had gotten a bit of a brain freeze.
"Using a challenge in hopes to frighten someone is not exactly the most effective way to get the best of somebody and before Mr. Reed decided to get involved I had planned on granting you your non-title shot. See it would seem like you have used this tactic before in your career, the way you speak of it makes it apparent that everywhere you go you go out and challenge the top dog and that could possibly explain your lack of ever being a world champion. Now I am a guy that is very much driven on mutal understanding and respect, and I am in similar shoes as you. I didn't get this championship because I fought up a ladder. No. You see I was never given a ladder to climb. Each week they would book me in obscure matches in hopes that I would get tired of it and quit. I am still here. And what they didn't expect is that I was going to find a way to get them to notice me and have no other choice but to give me that ladder. And so I took advantage of an opportunity, and I got the pin over The Enforcer. Which after you had a quick moment of taking him down you realize it isn't really that hard to do. Not saying much of you now does it? So now you are here and want to take me on and now you get it. And yet you call me the coward who is scared... Trust me you do not know what you were asking for when you decided to run your trap. But we'll see at Disorder where all this talk takes us, because I am sure it won't be such an easy task as you have imagined in your head."
Using his index finger he presses it to the top of his head in a mocking gesture towards Daniel Ballentine.
"You see Daniel, you talk about how the cocky and arrogant bastards were the ones who got their ways. Take a good look in the mirror there and you will see one of the biggest cocky bastards. You come out to the ring and challenge a non-title match from the man you think is the best in Prestige, which was right I will give you that. But you challenge me in hopes of doing what? You think that it makes you look harder than the rest of the guys back there that bust their asses? Do you think that you are going to actually beat me and propel yourself in Prestige, all I say to that is come on tough guy. You talked your talk and now you and I have our chance to light up the world of Prestige. You have balls I give you that too, but having a set doesn't mean you have the skills."
He stops talking as a group of college girls, more than likely on spring break come out laughing and giggling. He watches them as they take up spaces by the pool. He then refocuses on the topic.
"When you came out to the ring all I heard was the crowd booing because wrestling fans are getting tired of guys like you. Guys who only care for themselves and their own personal agendas. And don't get me wrong, we all do it from time to time but you do it to such an extreme that you lost touch of the main reason we are doing this. Those fans buy the tickets, the shirts and support us. They pay our salaries, they are the reason we can do this. They are sick and tired of guys like you pushing your weight around and getting what you want because management knows that the right amount of money and you all become hired guns. They don't want guys like me on top because I represent the opposite. I am a voice for the fans who's opinions go un-noticed week in and week out. When I became the Global Heavyweight Champion, I became the champion for the underdogs. The champion the fans knew would carry them. This title represents them, and last week after you heard them booing, you know damn well I can't let you win. Now, back to the more important things in life. See ya around Danny Boy!"
Corey excuses himself and walks over to the girls and strikes up a conversation in which the girls eggarly ask him to join them as scene fades.
________________
Daniel Ballentine made some good points and shows quiet the innitative, but will it be enough to boost him to the level he needs to be to take on Corey Benjamin. He thinks he may have the champs number, but Corey doesn't seem to think so. In under a week these two opposites will collide in the ring, just one week before Corey is set to defend the championship against The Enforcer at Escalation Of Force.
Corey has been riding on his momentum since arriving in Prestige and Ballentine is looking to slow it down or if he can, bring it to a complete stop. Corey has his hands full in this match up and the only thing that is going to matter is when that match bell rings... With every New Dawn, there is a Dark Dusk to follow. And Dusk is sweeping in quickly for Ballentine.
